The house is available for tours scheduled in advance. The home has pre-scheduled, private events and overnight guests on a regular basis. To protect the privacy of those guests and to allow our tour guests an ample viewing of the entire home, advance reservations are required. Please Contact Us to schedule your tour.
When making a reservation, please let us know of any special needs your group may have. The main floor of the Historic Dayton House is handicap accessible, with an elevated walk allowing entrance (from Thirteenth Street), wide pocket doors, and an accessible bathroom. Tours are easily adapted for guests who are unable to climb our stairs, but wish to hear the entire tour.
Tours begin on the wrap-around front porch or in the main hall, depending on the weather or the needs of your group. Please use the front walk (Fourth Avenue) when possible. If needed, guests may use the elevated walk. The tour guide will then lead you to the main hall to begin the tour.
The guided tour includes a two-floor walk-through with a brief history of the three families who occupied the home and of its architectural features. There is no minimum number of guests required for a tour.
